Q: I received a bounce message with error "BRBL".

A: This bounce message is generated by mail servers and indicates that the sender has been blacklisted as a spammer.

In most cases this is due to a virus on the sender's computer, which generates spam and exports it to saved email addresses.

In order to confirm whether or not the sender is still on the block list please visit http://www.barracudacentral.org/reputation and search for the IP address of the sender's computer.

If the IP address is still on the list, but the virus has been removed from their system, the sender must request to remove his/her IP from the BRBL. This can be done at the same address provided above.
