A: This error indicates that your email inbox on the mail server is close to full capacity and needs to be purged. To purge email on the mail server you need to login to the SmarttNet webmail interface at http://mail.smartt.com then delete the old email .  You can also contact a SmarttNet customer service representative to inquire about increasing your mail box quota. Please contact us at 604-473-9700 or email sales@smartt.com.

You can also ensure that your Trash is automatically purged when you log out of the webmail interface by making the following change:

First click "Personal settings" on the top of the right corner then select the "Preferences" tab and check "Clear Trash on logout " found near the bottom of the page. Be sure to save the change prior to logging out.

Another option is to change the number of days messages are saved on the mail server through your email program (for example Outlook Express)

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Select Tools then Accounts.
  3. Click on the Mail tab and highlight your default account (usually listed as the mail server name: mail.smartt.com, pop.smartt.com or mail.yourdomain.com) and click on the Properties button.
  4. Click on the Advanced tab.
  5. In the Delivery section, select the box to Leave of copy of messages on server.
  6. Select the "delete the messages from the server after [] days" and fill in a reasonable number of days. Please take into consideration whether your email receieves a high volume of incoming mail when identifying a number. You may also consider de-selecting Leave a copy of messages on the server to reduce the hassle of purging your mail box.
