Facebook Gets More Social

Facebook has released shared photo albums to allow multiple users to upload photos to the same album. The album creator can enable as many as 50 “contributors” to each upload 200 photos. Album creators can also allow contributors to invite others to the album, making gathering group event photos tremendously easier.
This new feature will likely boost user activities before the launch of its video-advertising program. According to a survey by Pew Research Center, a majority of Facebook users have voluntarily taken a break from the social network. Some reasons for the unplug include a lack of time to update profiles, declined interest in Facebook, and the fact that Facebook is too time consuming. This is undesirable for Facebook as it clearly wants users to immerse in its website so that it’ll be able to generate large advertising revenues. If Facebook can’t keep its users engaged as they have in the past, it’ll likely have another unfriendly meeting with its shareholders.
